Description

The Neo-Gothic splendor of America's largest Catholic cathedral, located on Fifth Avenue, has been a sight to behold since its construction during the Civil War at a cost of $2 million. In 2015, the building was renovated for a whopping $200 million, which included the addition of two front spiers that were added in 1888. Move inside the cathedral and take in the beauty of the Louis Tiffany designed altar below the 7000-pipe church organ and the breathtaking Rose Window at the Fifth Avenue entrance, designed by Charles Connick. Guided walk-in tours are available from time to time, so be sure to check the website for more information.
