Description

John D. Rockefeller Jr. funded the construction of this revolutionary 22-acre "city within a city", which was completed during the Great Depression at a cost of $100 million. Spanning 19 buildings - 14 of which are the original Art Deco structures - it was the first multi-use space in America, featuring retail shops, entertainment venues, and offices. Receiving National Landmark status in 1987, the center is now home to the iconic Top of the Rock Observation Deck and NBC Studio Tours.
