Description

A gathering stretch, by the river

The former ferry landing in Williamsburg is today the Grand Ferry Park, named for the 19th century Grand Street Ferry, which carried goods and passengers across the East River to Manhattan. The park opened officially in 1998, and was reconstructed with new plantings, paths and drainage in 2008.

Today, the Grand Ferry Park is a favorite escape for the locals. It has several dog friendly areas, but it is mainly used as a gathering and picnic place. In the evening, you can see many romantic couples sitting on the boulders by the water, and admiring the view. The park is also a good place for joggers.
