A trip to New York can easily get pretty expensive, but not everything has to break the bank. Take the Downtown Boathouse: an all volunteer-run nonprofit organization dedicated to providing free public access to the harbor in New York City through public kayaking programs.
The streets of New York are a fascinating urban jungle, but a little break on the Hudson is a lovely escape and will give you interesting new views towards the Big Apple. First come, first served (they do not accept reservations).
